Switching from i7-4790K to Xeon E5 2670, - DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)

Current PC specs
MB = Gigabyte G1. Sniper Z87 (Updated bios to work with 4790k)
CPU = i7-4790K (Not overclocked)
RAM = G.Skill DDR3 1866 (using XMP to get to 1866)
Case = Corsair C70
Main OS HDD = Samsung 840 Evo
Power supply unit = Seasonic XP2 660
2TB Sata 6gb's - Extra HDD
3TB Sata 6gb's - Extra HDD
500 GB 3gb's Backup HDD
GPU = Nvidia 760

I'm changing to 2 Intel Xeon E5 - 2670, still need to find a motherboard, But am looking at

If you checked that link, then you can see it is the main 2 cpu's with 128 gb of ddr3 and motherboard for $468.00 at that price i really want to just buy now, but somethings i need to find out.
I messaged Seasonic, my PSU works with this board and i do have 2 CPU pins on me so far good.
Things i need
Case, my case no way works with this motherboard. Anyone help witha case for this, i'll take opinions for ether standing or rackmount.
I need to add some usb 3.o controllers
I need more sata 6.0 controllers
The PCI lane for the gpu on this board, will i be able to use my 760 at full i don't understand 8x or 16x.
guess i need a soundcard as well, The current soundcard in my Gigabyte is good, It's a Soundcore 3d something, build on the board saved me money when i bought it.


So to recap i need help with
SSI EEB Case
DAW PCI Soundcard
usb 3.o controllers (are all of them the same?)
Sata 6gb PCI controller (are they the same as too?)


Please remember this is for audio work and don't play massive games are anything. Before you ask, this RAM will be used, Be loading samples into my RAM to be able to unload it form the HDD for quicker timings. I could ether DFD or just load more samples into RAM. It would be a waste for me to get a 2TB when i could just get the RAM needed for this price.

If the software isn't utilizing more than 50% of the 4790, it's unlikely that throwing anything with more cores and lower clockspeed at it will do any good for you since it doesn't scale well to the 8 threads that the 4790 provides. The i7's are clocked higher than any Xeon, which translates into higher single-thread performance.

My software is using all cores just fine. i don't need single-thread performance. The bonus with going to Xeon CPU would be able to access the RAM sizes.

I should have added, Im ready to buy 64 Gb of ram to start with for this computer, and then upgrade to 128gb. RAM is my number 1 needed thing right now for audio work, Think of it like a workaround for not wanting to buy SSds

You could also go i7-extreme edition (6800k, etc).

If you want 2x Xeon CPUs and the latest DDR4 memory (may benefit you), you could always go with the E3 v5 chips (4C/8T, with i7-like clockspeeds), or a single 6-8 core one (lower clocks).

I did some searching, Looking at going with the Intel Xeon E5-2670 very cheap and good speeds.

I'm ending this post. For all that find this post and looking for info on Xeon and or Server boards, i can only try to say what i know know.

If your looking for a server board and want to run it as a workstation make sure it works with the software you like to use and make sure it can run your OS. Make sure the board can use the CPU you;re looking at, Some boards only work with some bios and so on.
If the board is lacking USB slots and Sata slots with the newest gen, use a PCi board.
Make sure the board can fit not just only in your case but also the Mounts.
You can save your self some upgrading pains if you buy a board with updated features that allow for the next line of CPUs, For example, If you have a V1 cpu now and the V2 are still too high, they will come down in price just like the V1 but make sure your Motherboard supports both and your good for when the V2 drop, Most times the price drops is when big server companies change hardware and dump it off to Ebay sites and what not.
Natex is the site that i found with the best deals so far, have a better one?, share it.
If your board fits and sits in the holes of the mounts remember there is 2 CPU slots, not only in the front of the PCB, but also the back, and most times the case only has room for one, so please check to see if your heat-sink doesn't touch the plate.
To my knowledge you can't overclock a Xeon, i could be wrong.
Most used server boards are used in a small rackmount cases so if you do get a backplate it might not fit in a ATX or E-ATX Case.
If you go for a 2 CPU board make sure your PSU can support 2 CPU's, what this means is, " Can your PSU power 2 - 4pin CPU clips (Some have 1 8PIN) I'll be using a Seasonic 660 XP2.
If you're looking at a Server MB and wonder why the PCI slots are open, it's because you can place and size of PCI card there just won't get the full speed unless a gen above yours.
So to short read this.
Natex for deals
PSU = Works with 2 CPU's
MB = works with OS and software.
RAM = Can be used in your board.
Fit=Mounting hols align and MB doesn't mess with with case.
