Switching from Pirated windows 10 to Genuine windows 10

I was using a pirated version of windows so far and just purchased a genuine windows 10 Home version. I Clicked "install" on microsoft website and saw a dialogue box open which showed me the product key and Install button. When I clicked install it took me to "Create Windows 10 installation media" Download tool. Once I Downloaded the tool and started the install, it finished the installation and and when i went to settings i saw an "Windows isn't activated. Activate windows now" option. After clicking the option, it said that my Windows edition was Windows 10 Pro (pirated version was pro). So the Product key won't work.
I don't know much about these things so please help.

To go from pro to home you have to do a clean reinstall. For that you'll need bootable win 10 media. For that use the windows creation tool from Microsoft and just select create media for another pc to get started.
