Switching hardrives between laptops and it doesn't boot...Help appreciated

I have a Acer Aspire 4752 laptop with a Segate Momentus 5400.6 (500GB) (WWN: 5000C50048CE93DF) and an Acer Aspire 5755 with a Western Digital WD7500BPVT (750GB) and a test laptop of an ASUS VivoBook V551LB with a Segate Momentus Thin (500GB) (WWN: 5000C5006DFE17AD (not sure what it means tho but added if it gives greater clarification)).

5755 = my sisters old laptop
4752= my regular use laptop
V551LB= test dummy laptop

The problem is, my sister had issues with the 5755 and i wanted to find them out by using it as my laptop for a bit, therefore i put my hardrive from my 4752 into the 5755 and won't boot from it, i used the V551LB hardrive in the 5755 as well to test if it works and nope however putting the 5755 hardrive back in the laptop and it runs windows 10 normally with no problem, yes, both of the hardrives did fit and connect but i have no idea why it refuses to recognise it as a bootable drive.

The problem is, obviously all the hardrives have an active working copy of windows on it and i've used my 4752 hardrive in the V551LB with no problem and visa versa with no problem....

I just tested something and i'll show the results in the images i took

these were the V551LB and the 4752 hardrives in the 5755 laptop

It's not a connection problem.....it's not that it doesn't recognise the hardrive.......i pressed it so that it booted from the hardrives and still didn't so i just really don't know......

Any help would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention also, the 4752 is running windows 10 upgraded from an iso of windows 7 i have, same thing for the 5755 and the v551LB is running a factory installed windows 8 pro upgraded to windows 10 so it's all windows 10, the 5755 and the 4752 being installed in the exact same way, from a windows 7 iso on my portable hardrive and then upgraded to windows 10

I only just reinstalled the os for the 5755 but even before that it was running windows 7 and this issue still persisted

"Switching drives between systems often results in not booting up."
Are you refering to corruption?

Also as mentioned "i've used my 4752 hardrive in the V551LB with no problem and visa versa with no problem...." so it does work in switching hardrives between computers even between two different brands (asus vs acer) and in install and upgrade method, the most differing (the 4752 and the 5755 having the operating systems installed the same way and the V551LB being the factory installed windows 8 upgraded to windows 10).

The reason i used tomshardware for the first time to solve this is, it sort of opposes contrary belief, i've tested different hardrives working in different laptops so i know firstly it's possible, another is that i know both operating systems and hardrives are not corrupt or faulty as they work perfectly on their originating computers, my real quiz is, it seems that there is something software related that forbids they usage of another hardrive other than the factory, i'm not smart enough to know why or how this is but that's why i asked it here, this is the pinnacle of the problem.

True, i get that, i'd leave this to rest if i could believe this but why are the most differing laptops the ones that work with each other and the most similar laptops the issue?.....
Otherwise i'm happy with accepting that..
I get that a potential answer would be "computer can be tempramental like that, just format and reinstall the operating system on the 5755" but i kinda want to know the full answer however difficult to understand so i can understand fully what went wrong

(ta for the replies and help tho)

Basically, there are 3 possible outcomes:
1. It works just fine
2. It fails completely
3. It 'works', but you're chasing little issues for weeks
I've seen all 3.

I've seen it fail between two almost identical HP/Compaq laptops.
I've seen it work between a Pentium G840/Biostar motherboard going into an i3-8100/Gigabyte motherboard.

Win 10 is better than previous version. But nowhere near foolproof in this regard.

At least the feeling is shared, i felt like i was just being pedantic or something.
Computers are fickle for the most part in developing random errors and corruption but i'm sure there has to be a logical way to discern the differences between 1-3 and what allows them to fail and succeed.

I'm not sure of the communities background here as IT specialists or whatever or just your average curious joe like me but would it be recommended seeking a IT speciliast to give me more clarity or is it truely this fickle?

Thanks for proving me against being insane XD

Many of us here are "IT specialists" in one form or another.
Myself, I'm a software developer and server admin for the Air Force.

I've never seen a clear description of exactly 'why'.
Fickle.

Occasionally, you'll see people here who state "Oh, it always works. Just plug it in"
(yeah, from your sample size of doing it once)
