Hello
I have just bought an Acer Aspire E15 E5-575G-355Y.

I have that problem that i see many other people having too, i cannot seem to disable my intel graphics card so i can use instead my nvidia card.
I have tried going into system management and disabling the intel card, but when i do that and then try to open the nvidia control panel, it says i do not have a nvidia card.
Of course i have also tried not disabling the intel card and going into the nvidia control panel so i can use it as my default GPU but it doesnt work eighter.

Can anyone please help me? I'm on the verge of despair already trying to find solutions on this past 3 hours. My operating system is windows 10 home 64x

Solution
you aren't trying to boot from the IGPU (or the NVidia for that matter). You will not find this setting in the boot portion of your bios menu. You need to find it in the bios under the "advanced" tab, if it exists.

Look for "IGPU" or "Primary graphics adapter". You want to disable the IGPU and enable the PCIE option (as mentioned, if available).
Hope that clarifies things a bit.
I have 2 monitors. 1 of the is the generic notebook monitor the other one i have connected with a VGA cable. Both of them show up as located on intel HD graphics 520 and not on my nvidia 940mx

The notebook arrived today so i dont want to open it as that would mean losing my warranty, also i'm not an expert on hardware. I assume they are receiving adequate power from the power supply for obvious reasons.

Thank you for the fast response!

I have indeed tried to do something in the BIOS but i do not find anything worth changing.
Theres the boot order which i cannot change anything at all but i will go in it again and try to do what you are advising.

I have just gone in the bios and there is no option to boot from IGPU. I have just tried disabling the integrated intel graphics card and then going into the nvidia control panel but it tells me i have no monitor using the nvidia. ( my second monitor goes black when i disable it)
I have tried right click + settings ( where you detect monitors and change resolution, i'm not a native speaker so my notebook is in my language and i'm not sure how to translate it) and somehow making it use the nvidia, but there is no option to do that.

im getting seriously mad at acer, like who the hell builds a laptop with a dedicated graphics card and make sure only an expert user could have acess to it...

EDIT: There is no advanced options eighter, jesse.

EDIT 2: tried clean installating the nvidia driver. no result

If this still fails, go to 3dguru.com and search for their DDU utility. This will completely remove old versions of the NVidia drivers, which might also be the cause. After running DDU, reinstall your current NVidia driver again and see if that helps.
