I will be switching out my motherboard for a newer one with a new cpu and new ram. I would like to know if i have to do anything before i make the switch. I would like to keep my OS the same. I have windows 7

Solution
When switching motherboard to different chipset it's recommended to reinstall OS.
You will be facing multiple issues, if you try to avoid reinstall:
1. Boot bode compatibility issues (system might not boot);
2. Performance issues (incompatible device drivers will cause problems with system performance);
3. Windows licensing issues (windows will not be activated anymore).
