[SOLVED] Switching Ram

Hello. I am planning on upgrading my ram to something with faster speed and lower latency. My question is: do I need to change any setting beforehand like disabling xmp? Or when I insert new ram will my pc do everything automatically and change the speed and latency by itself. Thanks

You don't have to do anything before swapping, Ur mb will adjust to new memory by itself, however the defaults it will choose might suck. You'll have to enter bios after swap and check urself.

So remove old ram insert new ram and pc will change latency timings on it's own? I only have to enable xmp to get the rates speed

Pretty much yeach. As I mentioned default setting might suck for example it might choose 2133 or 2400 mhz with 3200 or higher new ram. That's why you should check how things are in bios afterwards and set xmp or change clock, latencies etc. manually to ur preferred ones.
