Switching the audio from my monitor to tv

Hi I just got a new asus vw246h monitor and i am using my lg tv as a second monitor as an extended display. Is there a way to switch the audio when I am watching movies or videos on my tv using vlc because the audio stays on the monitor. any help??

Why not send the audio to your TV all the time?
Is your TV attached by an HDMI (no adapters) cable, and do you have the proper sound driver to output sound over HDMI?
