Switching to a headphone

I was thinking of returning my G4ME ZERO's by Sennheiser and trying out a good pair of headphones and a desk mic with it with a DAC. Do you guys think it's worth a try and is there a big difference in sound stage and quality. Games I play CS:GO, league, CoD, etc!!!!!
