Can I assign a keyboard shortcut, that when pressed it will switch to a specific window of my choice?

Example: I have a calculator open and I would like to press a certain a button on my keyboard that will switch from my currently active window to that one.

Thanks

Create a shortcut on the desktop for CALC.EXE in C:\Windows\System32. Right click on the desktop shortcut, and select properties. On that panel is a Shortcut Key field. Click in that field, and press the KEY(S) you want your Hotkey to be. You will see each key appear as you press it. I have mine set to CTRL+ALT+C and it works like a champ.

MarkW, thanks but this will OPEN the app every time, but I want to switch to that app instead.

imagine I am multitasking and I constantly need to get back to a certain app, so instead of ALT+TABing or switching with the mouse, I could assign a button on my keyboard that would switch to it quickly. That would be convenient for me.

I have a question about this...I haste to have a cluttered Desktop and don't want a bunch of shortcuts located there. Is there a way to put those shortcuts (with the keyboard shortcuts) in a different folder other than the Desktop.

I have about 20 folders I want to have keyboard shortcuts for and don't want them all on my desktop. However I cannot get windows to follow any keyboard shortcut unless I have the actual shortcut on the Desktop. Do I need to "change the target" in the file properties box or use the "start in" section. Been playing around but cannot figure it out.

Thanks
