SWTOR ruined monitor?

So i downloaded an driver update and downloaded swtor. When i tried to launch the game the screen went black. So i rebooted and i can see the loading startup and after that i loose video signal. I connected my pc to my tv and it works wonders. What couldve happened? Can it be because of a too high resolution? And if so how do i fix this?

hmm doesnt seem like i have an local or appdata folder but thats ok i was going to buy a new one anyways

It will be a setting, not a fault of the monitor. You will prob need to turn on hidden files/folders in the explorer view first.

There is no way you don't have an appdata folder. And even if you get a new monitor, if the resolution is out of range it won't work. We don't even know for sure if that is the issue.

Go to the drive that you have windows installed on (normally C) open the users folder, look for the user that has an appdata folder, open local and go to swtor/settings.
If you really don't have anything, reinstall the game

So apparently swtor has messed with my resolution and my monitor is just completely black. before this even happened ive planned to get a new monitor but would that solve my problem with the resolution? I tried to connect my pc to my tv and it works wonders.

Difficult to give any specifics.

If SW:TOR is the only thing on your system which causes this blackscreen, then to me it seems a bit extreme to go for a new monitor as it sounds more software-related rather than hardware. It would make sense to me to check through software solutions before going the hardware route. Amongst which you could try repairing the game, checking updates (game and Windows), drivers, settings (within the game and others).
