So i downloaded an driver update and downloaded swtor. When i tried to launch the game the screen went black. So i rebooted and i can see the loading startup and after that i loose video signal. I connected my pc to my tv and it works wonders. What couldve happened? Can it be because of a too high resolution? And if so how do i fix this?

Solution

C:\Users\%username%\appdata\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings\client_settings.ini

change height and width to the resolution of your monitor

ok thanks will come back and tell if it worked

hmm doesnt seem like i have an local or appdata folder but thats ok i was going to buy a new one anyways

There is no way you don't have an appdata folder. And even if you get a new monitor, if the resolution is out of range it won't work. We don't even know for sure if that is the issue.

Go to the drive that you have windows installed on (normally C) open the users folder, look for the user that has an appdata folder, open local and go to swtor/settings.
If you really don't have anything, reinstall the game

Edit: Also what RobCrezz said.

All you need to do is set the correct resolution in the game.
