I'm hoping someone out there in never-never land can help me with this.
Just installed this mb. The c-media chip is installed on the board.
When I play mp3,wave,or from the cd-rom the music skips. I know on some of
the other boards you can set the irq to whatever you want. Can't find it
on this board. I'm sure that some device is trying to access, and
probably interfering with the sound buffer.
Anyone else had this problem, most important were you able to fix it.

TIA
JIM

Which operating system are you using on this system. Are you sure you
installed the correct driver for the operating system your using? If
your sure your using the correct driver it would help to know what
other PCI devices you may have on your system and the complete layout
of your system. Also did you have any anti-virus software running in
the background when you installed the device driver for the C-Media
chip. I have seen the skipping on systems using Win98 and Win98SE but
haven't seen it on my XP machines. I did get the problem worked out on
the Win98 based systems and if I remember correctly it just had to do
with when in the installation the sound driver was installed.

As Jim B. stated we require a bit more info on the O/S/player you're using.

Did you install the motherboard drivers from the CDRom included with the
board?
