Synchronizing domains

Hi everyone,

I have a problem which I like to be solved.

We have 2 offices at one domain connected by a VPN connection.
At office 1 we have the primary domain controller and a backup domain
controller. So far no problems.
At office 2 we have only one backup domain controller.

Here comes the problem: We can't sunchronize the backup domain
controller from office 2 with the primary domain controller in office
1.

At office 1 at the service manager the backup domain controller at
office 2 is avaibale in the list of servers.

At office 2 at the service manager only the backup domain controller
it self is available in the list, and when the service manager is
opened an error message occurs which states that primary domian
controller can not be found.
I can ping the primary domain controller from office 2, and also map
network drives.

What could be wrong or what should we do to let office 2 find the
primary domain controller at office 1 again?

Regards
Johan

Can you map to a share on the PDC from the BDC either by
name or tcp/ip address? If not what are the exact errors? What
are you using for name resolution e.g., WINS or lmhosts? After
unsuccessfully opening server manager open a dos prompt and
run nbtstat -c. What do you see?
