Hi
1.Now I have migrated 4 3gb discs (jbod) from 412+ to 1815+, and I have 4 new 3gb discs. Can I add the new discs to a new volume make a SHR raid 5 then move all files from volume 1 to volume 2?
Can I then delete volume 1 the move the new 4 new discs to slot 1-4 and the old discs to slot 5-8? And extend my SHR raid 5 with them?
Will volume 2 change to volume 1 if I can delete old volume 1?

2.Can i do this instead? Put a new disc in make a new volume copy that full with files from jbod discs, then put another disc in new volume again put more files in and repeat until I have backup of all files.
The do shr raid 5 volume, then use my System configuration backup. Then put the backup discs in one after one and copy files over then take away backup volumes and use the discs to make the shr raid 5 bigger.

Regards
Johan

If you create a 4 drive SHR volume, you will end up with about 9 GB of usable space. You could then copy data from your JBOD disks to the SHR volume. You should be able to add the disks to the SHR volume after you have copied the data off them.

Thanks kanewolf
The jbod disks is in slot 1-4 and raid 5-8, after I have copy over all files can I then move raid disks to slot 1-4 and then use my System configuration backup
