System and programs not responding

Hey,

Lately my Vista machine has been acting weird. When in any program whether it be, FireFox, Chrome, Minecraft, etc. The program will "Stop responding" and then everything else on my system will stop responding also, then it will freeze for about 30 seconds, this happens almost every 5 minutes.

It was happening so I formatted my HDD and re-installed Vista, but it still is happening, I'm not sure if its a hardware issue or not. I doubt there is anything on my system that could cause this to happen, nor have I overclocked anything, other than my GPU which was overlocked (black edition) when I bought it new.

I have also looked at my temperatures, nothing seems unusual, my GPU runs around 55C idle, and my CPU runs around 38C idle, my chassis temp is around 30C, and I have also cleaned my system out from any dust/hair, etc. I'm pretty sure all my drivers are up to date.

AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.80GHz
ATI/AMD HD5850 1GB GDDR5
8GB DDR3 1666MHz RAM
Retail +Plus 650 WATT PSU
Asus M4A77T/USB3 motherboard
1TB WD 7200RPM HDD

So can anyone help me figure out what might be the problem as this is really making my frustrated.

Saturday Oct 1

NOT SURE MY FRIEND, BUT I AM HAVING TROUBLE TRYING TO INSTALL VISTA ONTO MY PC. (CHECK MY OWN MESSAGE ‘HAVING TROUBLE LOADING VISTA’ etc etc)


Opened up the blue screen areas rechanged the password, thinking in case that area is blocking me installing the offical disk copy!.

Then started to reload the disk again, in the following way:

All seemed to be going ok to........
Installing Windows
and the following words appeared 'Thats all the information we did right now. (ticked) Copying Windows Files
(ticked) Expand Files
(ticked) Installing Features
(ticked) Installing Updates

Completing Installation ...


Started this new installing at 9pm UK Saturday October 1st
rechecked at 9.20pm UK and was still on same screen ....returned at 12.30am UK Sunday October 2nd
Blank black screen with only the cursser (little arrow) showing
Checked again at 2.30am UK no change!
Switched Of PC from wall plug!

At all times now had pc connected up to my sub hub (internet)
with the right cord, both ends had light showing it was connected both ends!

At this point I cannot think what next to do!

Did you check the Windows event logs for any errors tha come up?

Since you are seeing this with a new Windows setup you need to start checking hardware. Try taking out some of the RAM, run system diagnostics to check for any drive issues, run memtest, prime95 to make sure it runs fine.
