System backup or Disk backup or Disk Clone?

Hi,

I have a new laptop that I recently configured. I also have a copy of AOEMI backup installed. Which option would make more sense to use? System backup or Disk backup or a disk clone? I'd like to have this in case of disk failure so that I'd have everything I need to get it back to where it was, preferably with the least hassle possible (I assume through some sort of restore).

I'm wondering if I should do a disk clone, along with a disk backup. Or, should I do a Files & Folders back up and a System Backup? And, if I do a clone, and then install more applications, should I redo the clone?

Thanks

A clone is just coping the disk as it is to another disk, you don't do a restore from that, you just swap the disks.

You do a restore from a disk image file onto another disk.
A clone will make the second hard drive be the same as the original. If you want to keep things updated if you install a new program you would need to re-do the procedure.

A disk backup to a file is better than a clone, with a disk backup you create a file containing the drive image, which you then can install on any hard drive.

If you do a disk clone, you would need to keep a second backup hard drive to swap on for the original instead of a file.

So, do you do a restore from a disk backup or a clone?

Thanks
