Desperate Help Needed!!

Ok so I've been trying to build my first pc and it turns on but nothing comes up on the monitor so I was wondering if anyone with more experience than me has any ideas. The motherboard ez debug has the dram led lit, so i think i have a ram problem, although i've bought a 2nd stick of ram to test and neither works. Monitor is brand new, and tried onboard graphics and still no post. (Also gpu led 1 is on, but not 3 idk if this is of any significancd)

I've tried troubleshooting online and on here and got pretty much nowhere so was wondering if anyone here would be able to help before I bite the bullet and go to a repair shop.

Specs
Asus GTX 970 strix
Pentium g4600
Msi b250m- pro vdh motherboard
500w psu
Wd blue 250gb ssd

I'd genuinely appreciate any help and if someone manages to fix it!

Solution
Tested the ram in the second slot from the cpu? Is most of the times the default slot to try.
All cables in the right place? Some still forget the 8pin cpu cable for instance.
cheers for the reply, it's a gigabyte 500watt bronze psu, brand new,

cpu socket looks fine all pins etc look normal, and yeah i may look into breadboarding it or taking it into a shop, all the parts are brand new apart from the 970 which i took from my previous rig
