My older thread kind of died. I'm upgrading my wifes computer and replacing the motherboard, CPU and memory. Initially I thought a i7 9700k CPU but also want to be able potentially upgrade to a i9 9900 ..or just go with that now and want to make sure I pick the right motherboard.

Below is what I'm thinking..but reviews for the CPU are not the greatest..am I going to have issues with this motherboard and the i9-9900? Also...are there any issues with mixing an MSI GPU with a non MSI motherboard?

CPU: Intel Core i7-9900k 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Storage:
Samsung 1TB Solid State Drive
Video Card: MSI MSGTX970G4G GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G Graphics Card
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Solution
I'd go ryzen. Benchmarks show a ryzen 3600x is about the equal of an i7 8700k. But for the price of CPU/board on one side, you can probably only just buy the CPU on Intel side. At that point, put the money saved into a good gpu.
