So, I'm looking to put together a system in the 1k range for Star Wars: The Old Republic raiding.

I've been looking at the $1200 system that was on the front page here.

I have plenty of storage hard drives, so I can save the cash there and bring me pretty close to my budget.

Is this system a good value compared to say a slightly upgraded version of the $600 rig here?

Any opinions on the system would be appreciated.

They usually put together pretty good systems here since they have access to all of the tested equipment. You could take either one and do some changes to get what you want. The $1200 Pc does have two 6950 video cards and you could drop to one and put that money some place else or just save it. I'm sure that I would be making some changes.

I'd say that the 1200 dollar system isn't to great i'd say upgrade the 600 dollar rig to your liking. (Assuming your going to overclock.)

Here is an example:

MOBO:GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 $149.99
CPU:Intel Core i5-2500K $219.99
CPU Cooler:CORSAIR H70 CPU COOLER $89.99
RAM:CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) $48.99
Optical:Lite-On iHAS124-04 $19.99
PSU:COOLER MASTER GX Series RS750 $119.99
GPU:GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 560 Ti $209.99
Case:COOLER MASTER CM690 II $94.99

Total: $833.93

Optional:
SSD:Kingston HyperX 120GB SATA III $229.99 Total: $1,063.92
SLI:GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 560 Ti $209.99 Total: $1,043.92

Total:$1,273.91

I hope this was helpful :3

Edit: you could also use i7 2600k i think it's about 100 dollars more than i5 2500k
