Question System crashes after inserting new GPU (gtx 1660 ti)

I bought a gtx 1660 to today. I previously used a gtx 650. When I inserted the 1660, my pc crashed at the BIOS and a short beep sound came. At the second beep, the screen went black and then no display there onwards.
My system specs:
Processor: Intel core i5 2310 2.9 GHz
Ram: 2x4 Gb
Graphic card: zotac GeForce gtx 1660 ti
PSU: Corsair 450 watts
I tried many possible solutions. But none worked. Please suggest me what to do.

If your BIOS is updated and it still doesn't run , goods chance it's not supported by your board.

If your BIOS is updated and it still doesn't run , goods chance it's not supported by your board.

I haven't updated my BIOS at all. Will disabling secure boot help?

This might seem like a dumb question, but have you plugged the external power cable in? The 1660TI needs 1 six pin from my knowledge. Make sure it is in all the way.

You would be surprised how many people miss that. How are you accessing the BIOS? With the 650 back in the system?

Sometimes disabling it helps.

I don't see that option in my BIOS though. Is there anyway to disable it?

Just when rebooting. I access the BIOS by pressing F2.

You can get bios from here. Try after updating it.
To be honest with you. It's so much old system. Might wanna change the whole setup. I'm not assured if it will work on these components or not. Even if does, GPU would be seriously bottlenecked.

Update the BIOS like I originally stated above , if that doesn't help , it's not compatible. With the H61 chipset a BIOS update helps 50% of the time with newer card compatibility.

A 450w Power supply may not be enough to run the new card too. If the bios update doesn't help a new PSU, maybe a 550-650w may be your next thing to try.

its likely not going to work because you need the modern UEFI BIOS. nvidia GPU's started requiring this starting with the 10 series of GPU's

Worked like a charm. I updated my BIOS from 0041 to 0099 version. Everything is fine now.

Told you it had a good chance of it helping it be compatible.
H61 chipsets usually need the most recent BIOS.
