Hi everyone!
I recently bought a new Samsung 970 Evo Plus and have trouble with my system since setting it up. Whenever I start a game residing on the SSD, it (the SSD) crashes.
The issue is very similar to the one in this thread: https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...m-2-1tb-ssd-causing-crashes-and-bsod.3761068/
I have tried a lot of things so far:
- of course everything related to drivers and resetting the system
- using the second m.2 slot
- installing the OS and the games on the m.2 SSD (and on separate drives)*
- Samsung SMART tests (always pass before a crash)
*The games are always installed on the SSD. When Windows is also installed on it, the whole system freezes and all I can do is powercycle the system. If Windows is installed on another drive, I can tab out of the crashed game but not access the m.2 SSD anymore as also explained in the thread above.
The rest of my setup is as follows:
- Asus Strix Z270H Gaming Motherboard
- intel i7-7700K
- NVIDIA GeForce 1080
- 750W be quiet PSU
- a 2TB HDD and a 256MB SSD, both connected via SATA3
- 8GB of RAM clocked at 2400MHz using XMP
Does anyone have another idea what the problem could be?
