hello,

i'm not sure is this a software or a hardware problem, but when i try to render a little larger resolution or more detailed model with my cpu, my pc just restarts during rendering, without the blue screen.

my config: i7 6700k, thermalright true spirit 140, gigabyte z 170x gaming 3, 32gb ram, gtx 1070, psu fractal edison M 550W 80+ gold.

i rendered in sketchup with vray (cpu render), but i also installed blender for the test. In bledner when i render with my gpu everything works fine, but when i switch to cpu, the program crashes or screen gets frozen.

On my older pc (i5 3570k, 8gb ram) when i install the same sketchup and vray, and start the same model, rendering works fine. The both computers have windows 10 pro version 10.0.14393

I tested my pc with memtest86 and prime95 (both for 12 hours) and i got 0 errors.
Also i have print screen of my task manager and HWmonitor about 30 sec before failure.

im also not sure does it have anything to do with my graphics card blinking led power supply indicator. I bought my pc 4 months ago, and the led light flashes all the time. When i took it to the service center, they tried connecting my pc to a stronger psu, but the light was still blinking. So, they said i should run some benchmarks and if there's a problem the graphic card would burn out, and if it works fine then i should ignore the indicator.

just tried now rendering with an open pc case, and it worked just fine.. so was it overheating?
i mean on hwmonitor cpu temperatures were all under 60 C, and the cpu fan was around 910 RPM, so i don't really understand..
