When I plug my case fan into the system fan header on the mobo, it won't boot up. The light on gpu and cpu fan will turn on for just a sec and spin then nothing after. But if I unplug my fan from the header then everything works. Is this a motherboard issue or what? Cause I have my fans running now, just always 100% running cause I can't control them since they're not connected to mobo. Any help is appreciated. I AM REPOSTING THIS AS THE GUY THAT WAS HELPING ME SEEMED TO HAVE BAILED OUT. Here's a link to that thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2944788/system-fan-header-issue.html

My mobo is GIGABYTE GA-H81M-H LGA 1150 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128693&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Motherboards+-+Intel-_-N82E16813128693&gclid=Cj0KEQiA_fy0BRCwiLaQ5-iFgpwBEiQA884sOeCUeUWzzn5oue_sUHrTZv4wjOddW5s-qIL5SvHvyn4aAv768P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

The fans are, http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-AF120-Edition-Airflow/dp/B00F6S13DE

ok so multiple questions

Is the fan plugged into the header correctly?
How many fans are you plugging into the header?
Do the little plastic tabs on the headers look to be in the same orientation as the picture on newegg? the plastic part can be pulled off and turned 180* making you plug the fan in backwards causing issues. Could also have been put on wrong from the factory.

Do you have a volt meter to check the pins of the fan header to make sure it giving power on the right pins.
Have you tried the fan in the other header to make sure the fan is pined correctly?

yes it's plugged in correctly, all the way. I have removed the black tab and tried both orientations and still nothing. The fan will light up but will not spin. I'm just plugging one fan into the header, but i bought an extender to get 3 on 1 connection but the cable doesn't work at all
