I've been having game crashes and system freezes while I tried to play some of the games.
I'll be playing a game for about 20-30 minutes, then suddenly the game starts acting like it's using 100% CPU, GPU, ... and then nothing except a PC restart helps. Even if I close the game, whole Windows is hugely lagging and freezing. When I move the mouse, I can move it for 1-2 seconds, then it freezes and then lags for the next 10 seconds. Nothing helps.
I closed every application I could see (not those that run in background though), eventually the system becomes normal - meaning I can move the mouse around almost normally until I click on Start icon, then it freezes and lags again.
I tried to play with Task Manager open to see what happens, but it happens all of a sudden and Task Manager can't process what's going on (CPU is stuck on 100% without showing what is actually taking it) when the freeze happens, so I'm looking at old data on my second monitor.
When I do however manage to get Task Manager running in sync, it seems like everything is normal, then GPU comes to 100% on a random application that is still open (alternating between browser, then MSI Afterburner, then the game if it's still running, ...) for about 2 seconds and then down again.
I'm not OC anything in my system.
I reinstalled Windows.
I replaced my SSD that my Windows is running on.
I replaced my RAM.
I reapplied thermal paste on my GPU (it used to overheat on any graphic intensive game with 80-85°C, now it's working better).
My specs:
CPU - Intel Core i7-9700K - 8x 3.60GHz
GPU - MSI GeForce RTX 2070 AERO 8G
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI Gaming
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600 MHz C18 XMP (2x 16GB)
PSU - Corsair RM550x v2 - 550 Watt
CPU cooler - Noctua NH-D15 CPU - 140/140mm
Case fans - 7x Silent Wings 3 (3x front, 3x top, 1x rear)
SSD - Samsung 1TB M.2 SSD 970 EVO Plus
SSD 2 - Samsung 1TB SSD 860 EVO
HDD - 1TB
Monitor 1 - AOC AGON AG271QG 27'' 165Hz 2560x1440
Monitor 2 - Iiyama XUB2792QSU 27'' 2560x1440
Anyone have ANY idea what's going on here? What could be the cause of what's happening and what can I do?
