Try control-panel,administration,open event viewer,click on the event/warning
then click on the url in it,this opens help/support in xp,usually with a
fix or
suggestion on how to fix the problem.

My system was crashing like that and it turned out to be the hard drive
was bad. Download the diagnostic utility from the hard drive
manufacturer (Maxtor, or Western Digital or whatever), and run the most
thorough diagnostic available. It'll take a while, maybe a minute for
every 2 Gigs. Can't hurt, and if it is the problem and you do it
quickly, and you may be able to replace it in time to save data on it
before it goes bad altogether.
