Open this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control
Panel\Extended Properties\{305CA226-D286-468e-B848-2B2E8E697B74} 2. You
should have a '%SystemRoot%\system32\sysdm.cpl' value (right pane) with this
content: "5". Modify the value or create it.
With the above steps I assume you can view the System icon if Control Panel
is set to its 'Classic View', not 'Category View'. Can you see the icon if
you click on the 'Switch to Classic View' option (on the left)?
