hello all, I have a custom built rig, running AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz, with 16 GB RAM, installed on MSI 880 GM-E41 mobo. Tge The system keeps beeping, in series of 5 beeps, during regular use. no performance is effected, but its just really annoying,.. can anyone help tell me what these beeps mean? I know the beeps on startup have meaning, but this is after the system is up and running

Google MSI beep codes.

Here are a couple sample links:

Look for similar links as well as the User Guide/Manual for your MSI 880 GM-E41.

The key is to find more information about what is happening or could be happening and then apply that information to your custom rig.

Think about any recent changes that have been made to the system. Look in Reliability History and Event Viewer for error codes and warnings. If the 5 beeps are a continuing symptom it is likely that something is being captured in the logs.

No immediate need to start "doing things". If the problem is merely annoying you can live with that until the specific problem is identified. Either directly or via elimination.

The wrong "solution" could make things worse.
