System memory 4096 - available memory 4056

Greetings all,

I just upgraded my Dell Inspiron 1545 to 4 GB of memory. Bios reports system memory as 4096 and available memory as 4056. Where did 40MB go? Is this something I need to be concerned about?

Likely dedicated to the igpu.

You're worrying about 1% of total ram.
It's probably hardware reserved.

Launch Resource Monitor and check out Memory section.
