Hello!

Just went from windows 7 to windows 10 and in my task manager i have something called "system memory and compressed memory", that uses up 1gb ram and 2% CPU Since i Don't recall having it on w7 i was just wondering if it's normal and if those values are normal?

Thanks.

Win 10 uses ram differently compared to win 7, so that process is part of it. The link below will help but essentially, win 10 doesn't fully close programs you use and leaves them compressed in ram so when you start them, it doesn't have to go to hard drive everytime and it speeds up desktop file access. If you actually need that ram it will close the processes and give you the ram.

If its constantly using ram after an upgrade, sometimes the best answer is a fresh install of win 10 as the upgrade process can play havoc with windows. Fresh blows away all trace of Win 7
