I have an ASRock z77 extreme 6 that works perfectly fine. But, I want to add more memory, maybe a new processor, and definitely a SSD as my C drive, and a 2 TB HD. My specs are below. My video card is fine until the end of this year, and I don't overclock anything. I run games just fine on my 1080p HD Viewsonic, and have no interest in getting all crazy with dual GPU's, 4K monitors and all that crap. I'm just looking to refresh what I have and maybe improve performance a little. Some parts may be just fine, like the processor. Or, I can just buy two more sticks of the same memory I have to fill all four slots. Or, maybe I want more of better memory. I also want to know if it's a good idea to update the bios, because I haven't due to everything running just fine. Please help, thank you!
ASRock z77 Extreme 6 MB
i5-3570k, stock cooler, no OC
8 gigs of RAM (forgot what kind, but what's the best kind and how much of a difference would that make?) - Is it helpful to have 16? I don't run a lot of multiple programs, haven't come close to using it all as far as I can tell
Using MB for sound
Nvidia GTX 970
Windows 10 Pro
I know I want to change to an SSD for sure as my C drive, and I'm thinking of the 850 Evo, but not entirely sure it's compatible.
Thank you!
