The only thing is now I have a GTX 970. Not a 960.

Anyways, what should I replace?
I was thinking of replacing the 970 with a 2060?

Any other suggestions?

Solution
Just think it's time.
Its 1920 x 1080 and 60 hz.

Your monitor would hold back any performance a faster video card will give you. It can only display 60 frames per second. Any video card upgrade would be a waste of money.

Apex Legends is a new game, and, I seem to recall reading that it's badly optimized thus far, though, don't quote me on that.

Yea it is. I'm having some trouble with Apex Legends.
The sound is choppy and FPS jumps a lot.
Your system can easily run that game. Shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed. A friend of mine has a GTX 1070ti and was having issues running APEX. He read on the forums that some Nvidia cards have issues with Anti-Aliasing turned on in graphic settings.
