I want to put use my SSD as my boot drive, but I recently got another one and I'd like to set them up as a raid. Would I have to set them up as a raid before the OS installation or install Windows on one of them and then make the raid?

Solution
yes, to me, there is no discernible difference except benchmarks, no real world gains (I normally don't have a habit of running enterprise oracle databases or queue managers), but lose one and you lose both, well the bad one but you still need another good one to match it so you can rebuild raid AND reinstall windows. not good, only if you mirror them in raid I guess.
given how little you appear to know about raid there's a few questions and points to raise.
1. why bother? it won't be any faster.
2. are you aware of the increased risk of failure?
3. what version of raid are you going use?
4. what are you really trying to achieve?
