Hey guys! i am considering upgrading from a GTX 970@1490mhz and a 3570k @4.2ghz. Right now i am looking at the 3770k (used for $275) and a GTX 980 ti (Zotac AMP) so here is my reasoning! I don't want to change socket type since that is an additional 150$ for the motherboard and i am only getting maybe 10% improvement in performance (which will be nullified when i oc the cpu), the 980 ti non AMP (info from reviews) is getting about the same OC as the amp version since maxwell kinda caps out around 1500mhz ish. I own a 144hz Gsync 1080p display and having high frame-rates is incredibly important to me as a competitive player and i am hoping the 980 ti will get me 120+ FPS on most FPS titles at Ultra-High settings
Sooo! does that make sense? is there any massive flaw to my plan that because i am so invested i somehow fail to see? i get hyperthreading because i do alot of 3D rendering and photoshop work along with premiere pro rendering (getting another 8gb ram set) I get the 980 ti to max games out at 120+FPS (even though i think its overkill)
(sorry if there are spelling mistakes! i am going without sleep today 😛)
