So I bought a HP desktop and am looking to upgrade, problem is that I can't upgrade the PSU without replacing the motherboard.
Something similar to this. https://www.hp.com/ca-en/shop/product.aspx?id=86Y14AA&opt=ABL&sel=DTP
The PSU is 400w gold, HP proprietary.
GPU - 1660 SUPER
CPU - i5-10400F
RAM - 2 Slots (24 GB)
Memory - M.2 NVME (INTEL SSDPEKNW512G8H) <0.1W
Other Overheads - 2 Fans + mouse, mic and keyboard (no LEDs, but IDK power draw), WIFI card
My question is if I can put in a 3070 Founders Edition without power problems? it has a TDP of 220 W and the i5-10400F has a TDP of 65W so would my system have enough overhead to be fine?
The reason I cannot replace the PSU without replacing the motherboard is because they have proprietary/ non-standard connectors that the motherboard needs and I don't feel confident enough ripping apart a 24 pin to make it compatible like others have done.
Other question, the 1660 SUPER is connected via a 6 + 2 pin connector, will that work for the 3070 Founder's Edition's 8 to 12 pin adapter? It seems to fit but I have not tried booting it yet.
They killed their specifications page for their motherboard, it is the BAKER REV A M11
Used to have a specifications page they decided to kill it and replace it with their forms for whatever reason.
