System RAM required for a Gtx 1070

As per the thread, with 8GB VRAM on the 1070, am I required to have more than double that to play games stutter free? With Windows 10 needing 1GB or more, would 16GB system RAM be enough to compliment the new Gtx 1070?

16gb is very good and enough.
