I rarely experience extreme lags when playing games on my new PC. When the lags occur the complete systems lags (Sound, Video, Cursor) and the only thing i can do is to reset the PC via power switch. I tried a bit around during one of the lags and stopped apps like firefox, chrome, steam, teamspeak, etc. with the task manager but neither fixed the problem. The only thing to fix the lags is to restart the PC.
Since the lags are rare (about once a week) and i cant really reproduce them i dont know exactly what causes them.
All i can say is that they tend to occur more often when i have Rimworld and Firefox running at the same time and also when trying to alt + tab while a game is running.

I already updated all drivers and reinstalled most of my programs.
I am currently running a CPU Stability test to see if it detects any errors.

Please let me know if you have any idea how to identify the problem.
And please tell me what other information you would need.

my setup:
Windows 10 Pro
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
TUF B450-Plus
GeForce 2070 Super
16GB DDR4

ps: please excuse my poor language

make and model of the psu?
malware scan the system?
cpu/gpu temp?
ram spec?

600 Watt be quiet! System Power B9
no malware found after complete scan
temp usually stays around 40-70 °C for both during these lags
16 GB DDR4-RAM, Dual Channel (2x 8 GB), 3200 MHz, Corsair Vengeance LPX

I finally found the problem. Apparently its a compatibility problem between AMD and NVIDIA (Event ID 14 nvlddmkm) which is known to cause system stutters in rare cases and will be fixed somewhen.
