Hey guys,
I have a problem with my computer that I cannot fix. Maybe someone here could help me out.
About a month ago I assembled a new desktop (see the specs below). It worked fine for the first few weeks except for the fact that when I ran graphic-intensive applications, such as video games, the PSU became fairly hot. Then, about a week ago, it started to go into "Sleep" mode spontaneously after working for about 1 hour: the monitor lost signal and the system did not respond to any commands. The only way to make it work again was to restart the computer. After a reboot it functioned normally for about 5-15 minutes, then the same thing happened again. It appeared that running a video game caused the system to go into "Sleep" mode sooner.
Naturally, I decided that it was a heat issue, most likely related to the power supply. Unable to resolve the problem myself, I took the PC to a local technician. Earlier today, when I picked it up, the guy swore to me that my computer ran just fine for days when he tested it. He mentioned that he did notice some heating issues, particularly when he ran video games on it; so, he applied more heat-sink to the CPU and it had gotten a little better. His theory was that the motherboard (BioStar A960D+) was too small for the video card (GeForce GTX560), which resulted in overheating (this explanation did not sound very convincing to be honest). Nonetheless, the PC worked fine for him, and he specified that he tested the PSU extensively and did not find any defects.
Yet, when I took it back home, the problem reoccurred - the monitor lost signal after about 1.5 hours. When I turned off the sleeping mode completely, the system started to reboot instead. So, now it spontaneously restarts after about 1 hour on average; then, if I allow Windows to boot, it does so again in 10 minutes. As I mentioned above, running a video game seems to speed up the process, but the PC restarts even if I simply browse the Internet.
Perhaps someone can help me with this issue. Thank you in advance.
Denis
P.S.: System
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
AMD FX - 6300
BioStar A960D+
16 GB DDR3 Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX560
PSU Corsair 650W

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
