I reviewed the other threads with similar titles. I have also done a lot of my own work to figure this out.
System Specs:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • MoBo: Asus TUF Gaming X570-Pro now Gigabyte X570S AORUS Elite AX
  • GPU: EVGA nVidia GeForce RTX 3060 ti
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600
  • SSD: WD BLACK SN850 NVMe 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4
  • PSU: Corsair RM850X (850W) gold
Problem:
The system resets when playing modern games. (Began in late December 2022)
Troubleshooting done:
  • Started with checking eventvwr. Nother except for the general critical log that an improper shutdown occurred.
  • Checked for the latest video drivers, reinstalled the latest video drivers, and tried older video drivers before the problem began. Nothing
  • Verified that all drivers were up to date
  • Began monitoring temperatures. Crashing on the same games. CPU temp in mid 60s C. GPU temp in low 70's C. Neither device was at max load.
  • Ran extended memory tests. No problems
  • Began format conversions of video files. Configure software to fully utilize CPU and GPU. Run conversions for a total of 5-6 hours under full load on both devices. Temps were never higher than 76C. System has never been OC'd
  • Ran OCCT benchmark. All benchmarks and temps were normal except for one. Whenever I tried to run the "Standard 3D" test, it would reset the moment the test begins.
  • PSU passed voltage tests. Plus it also handled the full loads during the format conversions.
  • Did a fresh OS install (Win 10) All update all latest drivers and games and software in order to run tests. Games were resetting still. Format conversion had no issues. Same results from OCCT.
  • I concluded GPU. Setup RMA with EVGA with all the info above. It is sent, receive email that they cannot find anything wrong, they send it back.
  • I take it to Microcenter and explain everything I have done and what triggers the reset. They reproduce the reset and do a piece-by-piece process of elimination on the whole system. They conclude MoBo.
  • I take their report and setup an RMA with Asus. Asus cannot find anything wrong. I receive the MoBo back. I notice physical damage. I take a picture and inform them that I noticed it when I first opened the returned MoBo. I send it back. Later I get an email that the board is physically damaged and they will not honor the warranty. I point out the series of events.
    • Send in the MoBo, making sure to comply with the packaging requirements
    • Receive email that nothing is wrong with the board
    • Receive it back and immediately notice physical damage.
    • Take pictures and explain that I immediately noticed
    • Send it back
    • Receive email that the board is physically damaged and cannot be warrantied.
  • This series of events indicate that the physical damage happened at their locations. They refused to accept that.
  • I buy and install the Gigabyte X570S AORUS Elite AX
  • Reinstall OS (Win 10)
  • Tried OCCT benchmark "Standard 3D". Ran fine for the 1 hour times specified.
  • Play Civilization VI. After about an hour, it reset. Loaded WoW, reset after a few minutes. Loaded RDR2, reset the moment the loading process is complete. Tried OCCT benchmark, same behavior. Resets on the "Standard 3D" test
I am at a total loss. I am on the verge of tossing this whole system and ordering a custom build from a company that specializes in gaming PCs. That way I deal with one builder instead of multiple manufacturers
Does anyone have any suggestions?

The system resets when playing modern games.
You mean a reboot when the system is taxed?

Reinstall OS (Win 10)
Can you state where you sourced the installer for the OS? Did you manually install all relevant drivers for your platform or did you let the OS install them automatically?

I buy and install the Gigabyte X570S AORUS Elite AX

Can you verify which BIOS version you're on at this moment of time?
