System restarted while in game

I was playing gta 5 and my system restarted. This never happened before. I did just install a second gtx 960 last Wednesday. I think my ram is ok I ran memtest while back. I hope its not the cpu. I was having an issue with the motherboard were I could restart properly. Could it be the psu ? Please help temps are good

Do you think downclocking my cpu and lowering my ram speed will help ?

No, because the highest drawing components will still be the GTX 960s and that's probably your issue.

Ok would disabling SLI until I get a new psu or should I phyisally remove the 2nd card ?

do you think the psu is dieing or just not handling the sli set up? the psu is only a year old

You can always test it by using one card at a time and see if you still get the same issue.

I looked in the event viewer and noticed that there is a critical error happening more frecuantly after I installed the card also was before too kernel power error ?

That's just because the computer was shut down unexpectedly, it's only occurring more because your computer is rebooting on its own. It's not necessarily going to tell you WHAT is causing the shut downs.

"The kernel power event ID 41 error occurs when the computer is shut down, or it restarts unexpectedly. When a computer that is running Windows starts, a check is performed to determine whether the computer was shut down cleanly."
