I have a Core i3 processor with Win 7 (64-bit) installed.

When I use single DDR3 4GB RAM, system works absolutely fine but the moment I add another similar DDR3 4GB RAM, system starts crashing abruptly at any time.

I've been dealing with this problem for many months now but haven't been able to resolve this issue. System Event log shows Event ID 41 (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly)

If someone has faced similar problems and solved it, please let me know how to do this. Will let you know other system specs if required. Many thanks in advance.

List your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date? It's also bad practice to mix and match ram sticks/kits even if they are from the same manufacturer.

Edit: moving the thread to memory section. It's not dealing with storage.

Hi,

Info:
CPU: Intel Core i3 @ 3.20GHz, Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. H61M-S1 (Intel Core i3-3210 CPU @ 3.20GHz)
Ram: 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
SSD/HDD: 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZRX-00L4HB0 ATA Device (SATA)
GPU: Acer S220HQL (1920x1080@60Hz), Intel HD Graphics (Gigabyte)
PSU: INTEX 450W
Chassis: Mid Tower
OS: Win 7 Professional 64-bit SP1

I tried to update the BIOS, but haven't been successful (any pointers here?).
RAM sticks are identical. Will that be still an issue?
