So i upgraded my pc from an fx-6300 to a ryzen 5 and without a reason every time when i start furmark or a game my pc randomly restarts. So first i thought maybe my psu is dead or my gpu but when i plugged it into the old system (which btw consumes more power) nothing happened everything was just working. I already tried reseating everything, didnt work. I already replaced the mobo and the cpu and i still got the problem i ran memtest86+ and it had 0 errors i updated the bios. i reseted the cmos, i ran the ram in xmp mode, i switched the sata cables and the problem is still there the only thing i can think off is getting a replacement for the ram aswell but i mean its corsair vengeance lpx its not some sort of no name ram. And no nothing is overheating with the stock cooler.

System specs:

-CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
-Mobo: Msi Mortar B350m
-Ram: Corsair vengeance lpx 8gb (2400mhz) single
-PSU: Cooler master B500
-120 gb sandisk ssd
-1 tb hdd

Solution

Unfortunately a PSU working with build #1 is no guarantee it'll work with build #2, unless build #1 and #2 are identical.
Yes, the FX6300 is more power hungry (+30W).... and I am surprised that it doesn't work with the Ryzen build if hte FX works, but it's simply not a guarantee.

If your RAM checks out with MemTest, great. But it sounds like your CPU/GPU are causing issues (Furmark/Game = GPU, most likely), the other test crashed out on your CPU.

I would suggest reseating the CPU and cooler, ensuring there's no bent pins. Then fully remove your GPU driver with DDU in safe mode...
Have your monitored temperatures?

Did you clean install your OS after moving to the new motherboard/CPU/RAM setup?

If not, it's likely to be driver conflicts. The chipset drivers etc, were installed for your FX6300. With the Ryzen setup now, Windows has likely tried to find the correct drivers, conflicting with the ones already installed.

I would suggest backing up your important data and formatting/reinstalling your OS on the SSD.,

and i have monitored my temperatures but i dont even think that the temperature can rise 70c in 1 second because it crashes instantly i can even run prime 95 all day without getting a restart but when i start furmark it restarts and no its not because my gpu is dead because on my old mobo and cpu it still works

What GPU do you have?

Where did your OS come from?

Does the HDD have an OS installed on it too? Try disconnecting the HDD (so run only the SSD) and see what happens.

It still sounds driver or temp related. Are you installing BETA GPU drivers? Or full-release?

I have updated all the drivers i have a gtx 960 btw (recommended psu 400w) the temps dont go over 80c with the fan at 40% and it still works on the old system i already tried disconnecting my hdd and of course my os is installed on my ssd but it makes no difference without and with hdd

Do a PSU test with this tool http://www.ocbase.com/ , if your computer shutdown then the problem is most likely your PSU.

Or try underclocking your GPU with MSI Afterburner (like way down) and play the game or do the benchmark again.

It didnt crash but there was an error after 10 seconds and 27 pictures with errors where added

Ok im an idiot i ran the cpu test not the psu test it crashed after 5-10 seconds but why is everything working on an fx-6300 with the same psu even thos that cpu is taking more power

I'm not a professional or anything, but I have face a similar problem before. Therefore, I have no idea why it didn't crash with FX 6300 XD. Please underclock your Graphics card with MSI Afterburner and see if the problem persists. (Play a game or do the same benchmark)

Easiest way is to try replacing your PSU with a better one if you have one to borrow.

I underclocked it and it only ran longer for like 10-15 seconds now but i dont want to underclock my gpu because i can overclock 300mhz with my fx-6300

I only ask you to underclock in order to determine if the problem is your PSU or not. It seems to make a difference so I think its safe to say you need a new PSU.

Did you pair your FX 6300 with the same GPU? Have you tried pairing them again after you face the problem?

yes i have and it worked perfectly with the same gpu and the same psu

Then install the 385.28 driver (not the newest one from Aug 24) and see if that makes a difference.

I asked you earlier where your OS came from? Are we dealing with a legit OS here?

Solution

Windows 10 pro

So you think i should get a new psu can you recommend one?

Legit? Activated?

Potentially, but I'd try to narrow down what the cause is first. It would be extremely disappointing to run out, buy a new PSU and find out the problem persists.

Your PSU is not the best quality, but I would've expected it to be sufficient - especially as it's been powering an FX6300 adequately until now.

yes it is windows legit

The first 2-3 days when i got it it just worked but then it started restarting without a reason and this is my psu exactly http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/b-series/b500ver2/
