[SOLVED] System restore didnt restore VLC file?

Just trying to make a VLC video 16mb smaller by converting, didnt see the warnign saying output already exists file will be deleted blablabla, pressed yes, my 266mb file is now 16kb and unopenable, kept calm did system restore from yesteday, like 30 hours ago and ONLY just now deleted thaty file, system restore finishes, file still 16mb??? what do i do how do i get my video back pls thankyou

System restore doesn't restore user files. Only system files get restored.
That's why it is called "System Restore".

To restore user files, you have to do backup and then restore from backup.
I'm guessing - you didn't do backup.
