:D I have windows xp home, all kinds of restore points and plenty of system memory allocated for them, but every time I try to restore windows to a prior date, any prior date, the system will just reboot and go through the motions telling me that it could not be restored to that date. What the hell is going on? Anybody's help would be greatly appreciated.

your system restore must be disabled

check your group policy editor

run command gpedit.msc > computer configuration >admin templates >system > system restore ..if its disabled ..then enable it

also check if your system restore service is enabled

run command>services.msc
