Whenever I'm switching my PC on, from the UPS button, it starts to turn on as usual, shows welcome screen and as soon as my wallpaper comes up the system goes off! there is nothing but black display with the keyboard, mouse and CPU cabinet lights on well.
Here I need to push the 'reset' button after which the system resets itself resulting in a clean and clear starting up with no disturbances anymore.

The problem takes place again when I try to turn my PC on after a proper shutdown.

Why this is happening? Please help me out.

P.S.- Earlier a graphic card crash was happening- a sudden going of display for like 2-3 sec and then recovering followed by a system message, 'graphic card not responding but recovered'. The system asked me to update the display driver, I followed that and the problem is solved.

PC config.- Win7, i5 3rd gen, Ram- 8Gb, GPU 1Gb Nvidea Geforce.

You need to start troubleshooting to determine the cause, no one can say for sure without an attempt to troubleshoot.

Steps as follows:

Find another Monitor and cable and swap each of them to narrow the problem down.

If you don't find a solution, and the problem persists, regardless of the monitor or cable, then you should look take a look to see if you have discrete graphics or onboard. If discrete, find another GPU to test with to see if the GPU is faulty.

If that doesn't work, maybe beck the CPU temps in the BIOS and be sure they are normal and you fans and things haven't stopped working.
