System Stress and performance

Hi expert,
I have a 2nd generation HP desktop system on trial basis so to procure more systems having same specs desktop I would like to fully check system performance so as a Idea in my I want to ask is there any suitable tool which can stress the system and get results like system is ok for me or not ? Any tool for load on system and performance measurements.
