New system build, after the Asus option to go to bios, the system hangs on the 'Asus in search of incredible' screen and does not load Windows. I have to switch it off a few times, until it says that it's preparing to fix itself, then one more hard switch off and on and then I'm in Windows. Funny thing is that this only happens when I leave the computer switched off for a little while (like an hour or more). I tested the RAM, mem is okay, updated the bios too. Does my boot drive need to be in slot 1? I moved it to slot 7 when I was making a separate raid partition.

Solution
A few things here..

1. Its not "mandatory" that your HDD be in slot one, but it's highly recommended. Motherboard manufacturer's will often color SATA port 1 differently to mark the default where you should put your drive.

2. Are you able to boot into the BIOS and check your boot order?

3. When you say preparing to fix itself, does the operating system show up with that or something else?

I have had this before and it's always been something like a mouse that's plugged in. Disconnect all your USB devices first and see if it boots then. If not disconnect SATA drive's (Also optical drives) and if that doesn't work, remove the desecrate graphics card and use the IGPU. If it boots then plug all the devices back and in and you should be okay (except the GPU, shut down your PC First).

Okay, had time to take a look at this more. I want 2 drive in raid mode, and 1 drive (boot/windows drive) in non-raid. My thought was to keep the 2 I want in raid in the sata ports that allowed it (2 and 3, in this case) and keep the boot drive in sata port 7 (non-raid enabled). Does this make sense/possible?

Mobo is asus X99-E WS
