System taking screenshots on its own

Things are getting pretty worrisome for me as I have been finding screenshots being taken on their own by my system. At first I had thought it would be fixed by a refresh of Win8, eveything seemed fine until this weekend when another screenshot popped up in my pictures folder. On a related note each time this happens a few apps become a little unstable, what do you guys think is goin on? Each time I run a scan both with AVG and Malwarebytes they come up empty.

This is a complete shot in the dark, but certain games will automatically take a screenshot AND save the image file to your hard drive simply by hitting the Print Screen key. Perhaps there is a program you have installed that is running in the background (a legitimate one) that is doing this everywhere?

A refresh probably wouldn't get rid of it if indeed this is malware related though. You would probably need to either use the Reset option, or backup your data, and completely wipe the drive and reinstall the OS from scratch.

I did do a rest and it seems to have stopped, what I was mainly worried about is that the screenshots were appearing at similar times each week. Thanks for the advice.
