Hello guys my first thread here so please bear with me.

I'm looking to upgrade my current system, and my budget is 50k (i'll provide context below)
I already have an am3+ motherboard 8gigs of ram and overall the rest of the system all set. I play games like Rome Total War 2, Civilization 5/6, Mass Effect 3 and Galactic Civilizations 3 etc.

I have 2 options im looking at, here goes:
A cheap FX 6300 and a GTX 970 along with 256GB SSD (8.5k+28k+8k = 44.5k total)
An Intel 4670 and a Z97 motherboard (to future proof for a while), a GTX 960 along with a 256GB SSD (15k+10k+16k+8k = 49k).

The rest of my specs are a 1080p screen, a 620w seasonic psu and a couple of sata hdds. I also have a H80 cooler and a decent NZXT case.

Either way I can upgrade for another 25k-30k in maybe a year or so. What do you guys say? I like the 970 idea better because I can get a 1440p screen (the ones on ebay) and still game without issues, on the other hand im not sure AMD will be too good at handling the kind of games I like to play. So what do you guys suggest?

"An Intel 4670 and a Z97 motherboard (to future proof for a while)"

While the Intel cpu is good choice, the LGA 1150 socket is outdated already. There is nothing future proof about, because Intel most probably will not bring out another processor for this socket. If you don't want overclock (4670 without K in the name means you can't overclock), then you don't need a Z motherboard, as the Z means overclocking feature for cpus with K. In this case, you only need a H board, one with H97 in example. The GTX 970 is what I call sweet spot for 1080p gaming. The GTX 960 is a lot weaker, depending on the game.

What do you think about sli two GTX 960 later? And you could get only 128 GB SSD. I would take the Intel 4690, which have significantly more fps on some games against AMD FX-8370, which itself is faster and newer than AMD FX-6300.
