Right now I'm rocking a system:
I5-7500
R9-390x (Asus)
16gb ram
Considering upgrading to this system:
i7-5820k
Gtx-1080 (gigabyte)
16gb of ram
My system is a bit used to say the least, the other is not so much...
Mostly playing on 144hz-1080p in CS;GO and Overwatch. But I might go for some another games so I want to be ready.
For around 400-600 USD, is this upgrade worth it?
Ty in advance.

At stock, the 5820k is slower then the 7500 on ipc, but it does have a bunch more threads. If you overclock the 5820k, then yes, the 5820k is oodles faster.

A used 1080 is around $300, so if you can trade-in and get an entire system with a 1080, $300-400 would be ok. What is the psu in both systems?

I'm still hesitant to it as the pricing for a new motherboard, cpu and a rtx 2060 is around the $500 mark.

The 1080 is tempting, but the 5820k is even older then your 7500 and is similar to a ryzen 5 2600. I'd give it a miss.

I'd suggest looking into AMD options, or wait till Intel comes out with their new 1200 socket.
First of all, ty
But isn't the 5820k batter significantly then the 7500?
And for a simmler price of a used 1080, I can "trade" my old system for the 5820k
Do u think I should still give it a pass?
