Hello,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I can't find a sound related forum.

I just found that voice cancellation is somehow active on my whole system.

I tried to change it in the windows sound settings and driver but voice cancellation isn't active in either. The mic or any voice recording software weren't used. I don't know where else can a system-wide voice cancellation setting can be.

Where can I go from here?

Intel core i5 3470
Gigabyte H-81 motherboard
Integrated sound

Windows 7 SP1
Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.6662
TIA

Hey, thanks for the help. I did all of those already and it didn't change.

And then I checked the plug (I am stupid I know). Yep, it was loose. I plugged it back in properly and the sound was normal.

In my defense, I never expected a loose plug to have a karaoke effect, so it never occurred to me this was anything but a software problem...

No, its voice cancellation (or karaoke mode). Click the speakers icon on the toolbar and click on speaker properties above the volume sidebar. Go to enhancements tab and you'll find Voice cancellation.

Noice cancellation as far as I know is used to reduce noises so that voices can be recorded without outside noises interfering. Voice cancellation is used so that someone can practice singing a song over the music without listening to the voice.

Since this problem, I cannot listen to music or watch videos because I can't hear the voices.

Install the software for your card..
Then in your Installed Audio Software check Options?
You may have it set to 7.1 speakers when you have 5.1.. etc..
Something that makes mine lose channels and not work properly is the Speaker Fill tick box.. See here..

This sounds like a simple settings TICKing a box problem..

Been there too.. Luckily, there's little kids and a cat to blame for a loose plug..
The living room TV Cat 5 cable is missing the snapping click plastic thing that locks it in cable.. And I tore the entire network apart tracking it down..

...Glad it is fixed
