Question System won't autoboot to Windows 10

Hello,

I'm having a strange issue with booting on my new system. No matter what, upon turning the system on I go to bios -- even though I've correctly set my boot option as Windows Boot Manager for my NVME SSD. However, if while in bios I "boot override" and select that exact same option, I boot into windows totally fine -- it just won't "auto-boot" correctly into windows. Additionally, I haven't been able to get the system to boot at all with any other settings, so I know that this is what I need to be using. Thoughts?
I've got a Samsung 960 Evo plugged into an ASUS x399-A via this random M.2 to PCI-E adapter I picked up from Microcenter, running Windows 10.

Thanks in advance.
